About
Anti-wrinkle injections contain botulinum toxin which is a substance that is produced by a bacteria; it is then highly refined, purified, diluted for it to be used in therapeutic doses. Botulinum is administered by injecting it into certain muscles where it acts to relax them and therefore prevents the resultant lines and wrinkles.
The results last between 3 to 4 months, and you will notice a gradual fading off effect, so at this stage you can either return for another treatment or allow the area to gradually return to how it was before, however with repeated treatments the effects do last longer.

Botulinum toxin can benefit anyone, and both men and women. It is most effective in improving the lines or wrinkles that are due to facial expressions, including frown and forehead lines. These particular lines are usually caused by overactive muscles and this treatment stops the muscles from contracting and causing the wrinkles.
The treatment itself can take as little as 10 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated on the day. The effects can begin to appear quickly, even within 48 hours to 72 hours, although the full extent of the treatment may not be visible for up to 2 weeks.
Discomfort during this treatment is minimal and short-lived if at all, and because of this, most clients opt for treatment without any topical anaesthesia (numbing). Very tiny needles are used and only small amounts of the toxin are administered. However, we always do have the numbing cream ready and available for any client who wishes to have the area numbed beforehand.
In a very small number of cases there may be some localised bruising, slight swelling, or redness at the injection site. This usually disappears very quickly and can respond to the application of a cool pack and the use of arnica cream.
As soon as your treatment is over you can resume normal daily activities.
